Back to School. Back to Growing.

As a new school year begins and our fall routines start taking shape, it’s also a great time to get connected, grow deeper in your faith, and make time in your week for God’s Word and community.

Midweek is back at First Baptist Joplin!

Join us Wednesday, September 2 from 6:00–7:30 PM as we kick off another semester of Midweek. There’s something for the whole family, with activities for birth through 12th grade and opportunities for adults to connect and grow.

Suriname Mission Team Share Night
Wednesday, September 2 | 6:00 PM | East Room
Join Christy Taylor, Macie Cory, Emily Goodwin, and Kamden Martin as they share more from their mission trip to Suriname. You’ll see photos, hear stories and testimonies that couldn’t fit into Sunday’s service, and celebrate how God is using First Joplin to take the gospel here, near, and far.

Fall Midweek Studies
Wednesdays at 6:00 PM

Beginning September 9, several adult studies will kick off for the fall. Activities for birth through 12th grade are available during Midweek, making Wednesday nights a great opportunity for the whole family to grow.

Pastor’s Bible Study | East Room
Led by Ed Barlow, this 10-week study will journey through 1 John as we grow together in our understanding of God’s Word. Each week will include worship, prayer, fellowship, conversation, and practical biblical teaching designed to help you grow deeper in your faith.

First Men’s Bible Study | Room 206
Men of all ages will explore what it means to be a Man of God through Kingdom Man by Tony Evans, 12 Ordinary Men by John MacArthur, and a study of biblical worship. Together, we’ll discover biblical principles for strengthening your faith, leading with integrity, and living with purpose.

First Women: The Names of God | Room 202
Join Theresa Buckner for this 8-week study exploring the names of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit throughout Scripture. Women will discover what God’s names reveal about His character, His love for His people, and what it means to truly know and trust Him.

Evangelism, Prayer and More | Room 203
Led by Ryan Young, this study is for anyone who wants to become more confident in living out and sharing their faith. Through biblical teaching, practical discussion, and intentional prayer, you’ll discover how to share the hope of Christ naturally in everyday life.

GriefShare | Room 205
Led by Ken Hawkins, GriefShare is a caring, Christ-centered support group for anyone grieving the loss of a loved one. Through biblical teaching, video sessions, discussion, and practical resources, you’ll find encouragement, hope, and support from others who understand the journey of grief. GriefShare is already underway, but there’s still time to join.

Sunday Studies
Sundays at 4:00 PM | Beginning September 13

Looking for another opportunity to grow? Our Sunday afternoon studies offer options for adults and kids.

Believer’s 101 | East Room
Led by Ed Barlow, Believer’s 101 is designed for new believers and anyone wanting to strengthen the foundation of their faith. You’ll explore the basics of following Jesus, core biblical truths, and practical next steps for growing in your relationship with Christ.

First Women: The Names of God | Room 202
Join Melanie Beeler for this 8-week study exploring the names of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit throughout Scripture. Whether you’re new to Bible study or looking to go deeper, you’ll discover more about God’s character, His love, and what it means to know and trust Him.

First Kids: The Names of God | Kids Department
Kids ages 4 through 5th grade can join Ms. Charity for an 8-week study covering the same truths as the First Women’s study in a way designed especially for them. Through age-appropriate Bible lessons, activities, and discussion, kids will learn more about who God is, how much He loves them, and what it means to know and trust Him.

Childcare is available during Sunday studies for children 5th grade and younger.

Whether you’re looking to strengthen the foundation of your faith, dig deeper into Scripture, connect with others, or help your kids grow in their relationship with Christ, there’s a place for you this fall at First Baptist Joplin.
