Church At Home logo

During this very unique season of life, we want to do our part in equipping families to BE THE CHURCH outside the walls of the Church campus. Church@Home is a weekly package we have put together to provide weekly messages and resources for your family. These packages are designed to come alongside you and assist you in leading and shepherding your family through this time when we cannot assemble together as a Church Family. We love you and want the best for you and your family. The Church was never a building. WE ARE THE CHURCH. YOU ARE THE CHURCH. And now it is time for us to BE THE CHURCH.

Some of you may be like me and still poring over the book of 1 Peter from last week.  Honestly, I've gone back and read it several more times again slowly, taking a bunch of notes.  It has been such a blessing to me during this season. However, some of you may be looking for your next personal bible reading focus.  Try the book of Colossians. Whereas 1 Peter gives us hope in the midst of tribulation and exile, Colossians teaches Who the Author of Hope is - Jesus.

Here is a great 8-session Bible study through the book of Colossians in the New Testament led by Louie Gigilio of Passion City Church.  I think you will be blessed by this short study with short video teachings and free downloadable handouts and resources.

Please pray for:

  • Gospel conversations and open doors for the truth to be shared during this unique time.
  • The staff as we seek to navigate this season and follow the leadership of Jesus.
  • For the sick
  • Fort the spiritual development of each part of this body.
  • For the healthcare workers that are treating the sick among us.

Elementary and Preschool Memory Verse: Psalm 111:1

“I will praise the Lord with all my heart!”

Hi First Kids Parents!

Can you believe it? Easter is coming soon! In preparation for the Holy Week, we’re learning about some of the events leading up to the death and resurrection of Jesus. This week, we’ll be hearing about Jesus’ last supper with His disciples.

When you’re ready, watch the lesson video with your kids. It’s fun for the whole family and there is an opportunity to pause and discuss. Afterwards, there are two great worship videos for you to choose from: one is for older kids and one is for younger kids. (You can find all of the videos here.)

Here is a snapshot of the lesson details for this week:

Bible Story: The Last Supper (Matthew 26:17-30)

Big Idea: Jesus gave His body and blood for our sins, so we can remember Him through communion.

Memory Verse: “Everyone should take a careful look at themselves before they eat the bread and drink from the cup.”  1 Corinthians 11:28 (NIrV)

After the video lesson and music, you can use the attached materials to help take your family deeper into the lesson:

  • Family activities guide
  • Seek and Find activity sheet
  • GO! Home guide for kids
  • Bible verse sign

Lastly, at times like this, it’s good to remember what Psalm 118 tells us: “Today is the day that the Lord has made, so let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Despite the circumstances, I pray that you are able to see God’s thumbprint on this day, and that when you do, it brings you overwhelming joy.

In Him,

Mrs. Katie

This week we are kicking off our two-week Easter series entitled SAVIOR.

In this series, we’ll look at the final days of Jesus, His death, and His resurrection.

Week 1 – will focus in on The Suffering Savior

Week 2 – will focus in on The Living Savior

During this first week of the series, we will be focusing on Jesus’ suffering.

When life gets difficult, it's easy for us to feel like we are all alone.  During these times, we often feel like we are the only person who has ever gone through whatever it is we are experiencing.  And we feel as if no one else could possibly understand. Even though people remind us that God is with us through difficult times, it can still feel like we're going through life alone.  When life is difficult, we can be confident that we have a Savior who understands what it's like to feel alone.

If you would like to read through Matthew 26 with us this week, here is the schedule:

Monday – v. 1-13

Tuesday – v. 14-29

Wednesday – v. 30-46

Thursday – v. 47-68

Friday – v. 69-75

Take a few minutes each day to read the verses.  Then read them again. To take it a step further, write down or type in some of your thoughts about what God is saying to you through these daily scriptures.

On Wednesday, we will be posting our video lesson for this first week of SAVIOR.

We will take a deeper look at the suffering Jesus went through – emotionally, mentally spiritually, & physically.

Don’t forget to join the Storehouse Parents fb page to find resources designed just for you.

We want to challenge you as a family to find unique ways to serve this week.

Our Church is offering Blessing Boxes & Bags to any families who need help with Groceries during this time.  If your family has a need, please contact Jason. Otherwise, think of people around you who may have this need.  You can direct them to contact the Church at 624-4585. Or you can contact us about picking up a blessing bag to deliver to them yourself.

If you happen to get any pictures of your family serving, please send them to us.  We would love to see how you are BEING THE CHURCH and showing love to those around you.

We want to help you and your family find laughter and fun in this challenging season. Each week we will be posting a challenge that is JUST MEANT FOR FUN.  Sometimes there will be prizes. Other times there may not. We want to create a way that we can all have some fun together even though we are distant.

Students, Watch for this week's challenge to drop on social media on Tuesday.

Hey First Family! While you all are at home enjoying some family time it would be a BIG help to us if you could take 5-10 minutes to update your CCB profiles. CCB is a tool that we, First Baptist Joplin, can use to better minister and engage with all of you. Information like email, phone number, mailing address, birthdate, gender and school grade are very useful to use and can help make sure we don’t miss you when we send out mass email to certain groups of people. It’s also important to make sure we have your family information right too, like spouses and kids.

  • go to
  • Click on the button that says LOG IN TO CCB
  • Fill out the form requesting a username and password. Use your email address for a user name and choose a password you can remember, then click CREATE ACCOUNT under the blue button.
  • If we had your email address in the system, you will automatically receive an email with log in links. If we didn't have it or had a different email address, you will have to wait for admin approval. After requesting a login or being assigned one, you will receive an email containing your login information. Use the link in the email to access your online community.

Below we have attached a video tutorial to walk you through the step to update your profile. If you have any questions about CCB feel free to email Austin at or the church office at
